At Hegemony Global Schools, festivals are more than a break in routine - they are a chance for children to experience culture, tradition and teamwork in a way that feels real to them. Our recent Janmashtami celebration was a wonderful example of this, with our kindergarten students taking centre stage while the rest of the school watched and cheered them on.
Dressed as Krishna and Radha, our youngest learners brought
the festival to life with colourful costumes, joyful expressions and confident
performances. They danced to festive music,
embracing the rhythm and energy of
the occasion with genuine enthusiasm. A highlight of the celebration was the
traditional Matki Phod, thoughtfully adapted to suit their age, ensuring every
child could participate safely while still enjoying the spirit of the
tradition.
What made this celebration particularly special was the
sense of ownership our kindergarteners displayed. With guidance from their
teachers, the students played an active role in shaping the program, marking an
early step in their journey toward leadership and independent thinking.
Planning, preparing and performing together helped them build confidence,
coordination and a sense of accomplishment.
Celebrations like these remind us that learning extends
beyond the classroom. Through festivals, our students connect with tradition,
build social skills and take pride in contributing to something larger than
themselves. We look forward to more such moments where our little ones lead the
way, supported every step by their teachers.
