INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam

Yoga is a way of life

Internationally the 21st of June is solely marked to celebrate yoga since 2015 after being birthed in the United Nations General Assembly in the year 2014. Yoga is a mind and body practice that can build strength and flexibility. It may also help manage pain and reduce stress. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation.

Having the origins of Yoga in India, we have adopted it into our lives only after the western influence of the same has increased. This year the theme that was adopted by India “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” a Sanskrit phrase from ancient Indian scriptures that means the whole world is one (my) family.

We as the HGS family came together on this day to adopt the benefits of YOGA in one fell swoop of a Workshop. Having students and teachers participate and practice Yoga, we have taken a pledge to make a conscious effort to make it a daily practice.

The Tranquilizing Session

It was time to roll out our yoga mats and discover the combination of physical and mental exercises that for thousands of years have hooked yoga practitioners around the globe. The beauty of yoga is that you don’t have to be a yogi or yogini to reap the benefits. Whether you are young or old, overweight or fit, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body. Not being intimidated by yoga terminology, fancy yoga studios and complicated poses. Yoga is for everyone.

The Reverberation

We came out of the yoga session rejuvenated, body mind and soul in sync with the one constant of peace. Yoga being a paramount in the healing of one’s self has brought to us a sense of power too and has become an acute requirement in our schedule. We the HGS team believe that the power of Yoga in unmatched and vow to keep it up through the year.

Furthermore

The teachers at HGS have taken part in the MyGov International Yoga day Quiz. All aligning to the motto and aim of our dear Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Inculcating the values of yoga in each student and keeping themselves up to date, Teachers too have pledged to continue the practice of Yoga.
